In Warp, you play as an alien who seems to have crash landed on Earth. However, instead of waking up and exploring the new world around you, Scientists have taken you captive. Now, you must escape from the lab while regaining the powers you had.
The main mechanic the player will use is the idea of warping. You can warp between objects and new areas. You can also warp into any humans you find. However, instead of using them to move around the level, you can only destroy them by blowing them up. In addition, if you warp into a human and another person spots you, they will shoot at you.
Along the way you could collect “grubs”, the game’s currency. You can use these “grubs” to buy new power ups such as faster warps or the ability to locate other “grubs” easily.
Overall, what makes the game interesting is the warping mechanic and the fact that the player is tasked with trying to make it past each level in a stealthy manner.
Final Verdict: Definitely Download Demo!
Hello again everyone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break! I got through chapters 4-6 in Resistance and now here are my thoughts.
(CHAPTER 4) So now we’re in a conversion center and damn that’s a lot of soldiers. Hale finally speaks to a woman who has also been captured named Parker. Most of the cutscenes reveal the conversion process from human to Chimera. So, up to this point, I’ve been killing humans who were converted into Chimera? (Sneaky bastards)
(CHAPTER 5) More of the same from chapter 4, namely killing Chimera at the conversion center. However, this is the hardest fight since chapter 3 considering how many Chimera you have to deal with before the chapter’s end.
(CHAPTER 6) Now its off to reach a church in Manchester. The chimera try their best to push us back but we manage to lay waste to all of them. (also, leapers are mildly annoying) Once we reach the entrance to the church, I don’t notice any other enemies. Next thing I know, a creature charges at me from behind. I have no idea what it is but looks like a cross between a warthog and a Chimera (Mythical creature not main villain) The chapter ends with Hale and the group entering the church and Hale looking at something off camera in shock.
Thanks for reading! Chapters 7-9 will be up soon.
Hey everyone. I recently started playing Resistance: Fall of Man on PS3. I figured I would start posting my thoughts throughout the campaign. (THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!) I recently played through the first 3 chapters.
(CHAPTER 1) It is your basic prologue/introduction to the game. Nathan Hale seems like a basic character and I have a feeling he is going to be one of those silent protagonists. The game sets up the possibility that Hale could have a shady past but nothing is certain yet. Having played a ton of Call of Duty and Halo, the controls for Resistance take some getting used to.
(CHAPTER 2) The whole squad gets wiped out by what seems to resemble the Scarabs from The Mummy (1999). I definitely laughed when I saw the bugs enter Hale’s mouth. A bit weird that he survived but I guess that is part of the mystery of the game and Hale’s character. The final objective with the tank felt a bit wonky in terms of controls but it was great to wipe out a ton of Chimera with grenade blasts.
(CHAPTER 3) Thus far, this was the toughest mission for me. Defending a bus depot from the Chimera forced me find different ways to attack. The fact that only one quarter of your health regenerates really changes how you can approach objectives. I actually had to flank them with both the Bullseye and Carbine from different directions. However, the end of the mission did tick me off a bit. The new squad and I spent a lot of time pushing back the Chimera and then they just launch spires and take over the base anyway?? (-_-)
That’s all I have for now. I’ll post about chapters 4-6 soon. Thanks for reading!
